Libya

Today I am going to talk about the tensions in Libya, and how these tensions are affecting other parts of the world. This first began after the follow up of Egypt after the collapse of the dictatorship, and is now happening in Libya. One problem that has escalated is that some people say it has turned from a demonstration to a war. This is causing refugees to flee the country, and are being aided by other countries around the world like the United States. The leader, Gadhafi, has sent the military into the streets, but anti Gadhafi demonstrators are fighting against them. Gadhafi is now seen in a negative way after the military fired on innocent people in a demonstration. I think this is one problem that has a domino effect. People living under dictatorships are now rebelling and wanting to form a democracy where each person has their own say in government. Personally, I think peaceful demonstrations against dictatorships are good, but it can get difficult when the military and fighting become involved. Although, some problems this may cause are the way religion is in involved into each of these countries. The Middle East has a high percentage of Muslims, and democracy tends to change that way of life. There should be peace in the world, where nobody should be killed because they stand up to what they believe in.

  1. As a result of reading your blog, I believe people who are unsatisfied with how things are right now become rebellious. For instance, people in Libya are becoming rebellious of the dictatorship in Libya. People in Libya are becoming rebellious because they want to be able to have their voices heard too. Being able to have voices be heard is not taken lightly because demonstrations are becoming serious. People are becoming rebellious the dictatorship in Libya just as there was a rebellion for the dictatorship in Egypt. People are being rebellious against the dictatorship because they believe their voice should be able to take part in shaping the government as in a democracy: people rule the place not exclusively one person.

I agree with you that there should not be fighting involve or any military involve in taking lead to voice out against the government because dictatorships can be unfair. Dictatorship can be unfair because people need to be able to have their voices heard too. Thus, a democracy is needed instead in order for people to have their inputs heard. Since people are dissatisfied about the dictatorship in Libya, many people become refugees (a person escapes their country to another place for a safety).
